I just bought my "first" mechanical keyboard after having owned one 14 years ago. and trust me, being able to resist driving a car on it or even jump on it, wasn't really a criteria for me. So for normal home use, both will be perfectly fine

Out of the two I'd pick Filco. Better quality also doesn't have weird layout (SteelSeries), it has one extra key at where the right shift is so I'd imagine I'd keep hitting the wrong key if I were to press shift.
Though out of your gaming choices, I'd probably suggest you get a board with MX Brown. In my opinion for Tetris, Starcraft and Dota2 tactility would probably help. As for COD4 I guess black would be ok.
However if you're dead set on MX Black, Thermaltake Meka G1 or Mionix Zibal 60 would also be good choices :)

I have a SS7G and if you ever want to replace the caps on it you have to either get them replaced by Steelseries which they did for me for free, or buy something from Ebay or Qtan for a pretty penny. For the Filco you can put almost anything on there easily so even though the SS7G has nice quality, long term it is not easy to replace the key caps.

filco. SS is nice but danielucf is right about the keys.
