Btw, can I just tell you how much kudos you get for mentioning your selling the individual keys even to hobbyists.

Serious kudos.

Ditto....the individual key deal is much appreciated.  If the moq for individual switches is still 800 switches I may run a proper mini group buy for them.

The question is:  where do you put those new alps switches?

In an ALPS ergonomic keyboard.

.. or in an Custom ALPS keyswitch based keyboard (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=34772.0). It looks like it is going to be a compact board. I would not be surprised if the group order included Matias switches (so that you don't have to buy a box of 400 (?) for just one board of 60 - 63 keys).

Ducky XM
Filco Zero
AT101
various Apple models
other old Alps boards
or the MiniTouch I have coming...

Thanks everyone...

Just wanted to let you know that we'll be selling both the quiet and the clicky switches in about a month.  Our next production of switches has already begun.

Also, we're reducing the switch bundle quantity to 200pcs.   That's more than enough to make any size keyboard, with plenty of extra switches to spare -- in case of soldering errors, etc.  Shipping will also be less expensive than the 800pcs package we use for factory orders.

Looking forward to seeing what you end up making...  :)

I don't want another old alps board (i already have some), i was hoping for a new modern keyboard (maybe tkl) and don't want to dismantle a cheap Ducky and throw away XM switches

We have at least 1 if not 2 projects already working on a kit to accept Matias' switches.

this would be a great candidate for the new switches:

My donor board came in today (old Zenith with linear yellow alps).  I'm going to be putting the new Matias click switches in it (Part no. PG155B02) once they hit retail.

^ Nice! Just hate the big-ass enter keys, horrible. :D

Did you just order the switches or did you order the whole thing from matias?
I think his keyboard is really pretty, except the font on the keys!

As far as I know...the switches (not the keyboard) is still unavailable to purchase.  I'm waiting for Matias to make just the switches available for purchase.  The enter key on this keyboard isn't bad at all when compared to other big ass enter keys...plus it has a full size backspace.
