Title: Are key cool boards any good?
Post by: Lethal Squirrel on Mon, 24 September 2012, 19:30:04
I'm just wondering about the quality. Is it any good?
Also, is the space bar propitiatory like the Leopolds?

This specifically.

it is 21 keys NKRO under USB and full NKRO under Ps/2 due to the PCB design, therefore, master core suddenly doesn't work sometimes, and it means u need to return it back to the seller to change a new one. it is not a big deal since only several of this case is occurred. Keycaps are abs and just fine. wires are good, not like damn Rosewill.

Thanks for the info. are these boards plate mounted by the way? I'm assuming they are.

I feel like those images were doctored to make the Keycaps color more similar to the base color, or vice versa

In reality, there's probably a good shade difference. BEWARE.

Also, Bad review

I don't have one, but I do believe they are plate mounted.

Also, don't buy from Qtan's ebay store. Buy from his other store. or hit up his subforum here on GH

(looks like it's $10 less)

I've had a KeyCool 84 for about a month and have been happy with it. I have had a problem where the Ctrl key sticks, and I have to hit it again to turn it off. It's happened about 3 times since I've gotten the keyboard, and I use it all day in my coding job. It's been better than the Noppoo that I replaced with the Keycool.

I'm almost certain they're plate mounted, but I can verify tomorrow when I get to work. If you look at the picture I have of my keyboard you can see the plate.
