Title: Is it possible to mod 8 keys from an HHKB Pro2 from 45g to 55g?
Post by: TacticalCoder on Wed, 26 September 2012, 15:25:25
I love my HHKB Pro2 but I do touch-type and I do actually rest my fingers on the keyboard when I'm not typing. So sometimes I accidentally trigger, say, 'k' without even noticing it. It may just be because I'm not yet used enough to my HHKB (after years spend using Model Ms).

Would it be possible to mod the 8 keys: asdf and jkl; to 55g?

If it's possible, is it "easy"?

Would it feel ok or do you think it would feel too weird to have such a variable-force layout?

Possible yes... It will cost you that MX 5000 though! :P

It is probably not too hard... though I don't own a Topre board to test it with.

I believe hasu has done something similar.  It consists of buying a donor board and cutting the 2 dome sheets and putting everything back together.  Not cheap.

QFT. I wouldn't recommend it.
