Title: [FS] Some Colored Laser Ethched Keycaps & Keysets from "Chaos"

Not sure if I should post this in the group buy section or here. I haven't got them yet, these are still in China, but I should be able to receive them in 1-2 weeks.

Anyway, the guys named "Chaos" (He thinks the name 'Village Head' was too silly) was actually the first to make those custom R4 keycaps in China. Back to 2-3 years ago, there were only few choices of MX keycaps in China:
1) Village Head's custom R4 keycaps.
2) KBC's PBT colored 37-keyset.
3) Some expensive and high-quality metal keycaps from Korea.

Out of topic... So Chaos has been using the keycaps from Cherry Corp. to make these custom keycaps. He's not satisfied with the quality of KBC's keycaps. The Cherry's keycaps cost more but he just like them because of the quality.

These custom keycaps were made of Cherry's keycaps. Like the ones on Cherry G80-3000. FYI, Cherry's profile is pretty much like SP's profile.

They got dyed first, and then laser etched. There might be some scratches on the sides buecause these keycaps were originally from Germany, and then went to Chinese distributor, and then those resellers. Finally came to Village Head's hands.

nice. Never see a full set of 1.0 mod keys in different colors like this. would be nicer in normal RGB and Cherry font. But I PM'd you anyways to pick one up :)

Original Cherry blanks are not the easiest to find if these are the ones I think they are then have to be carefully dyed, engraved, infilled

Imagine QWER Keys but with a even more expensive starting cost due to keys being much more expensive.

Most important reason caused these so expensive is because Chaos need to dye these keycaps carefully keeping them in the right color, and then make them laser-etched. Only only because of those blank keycaps from Cherry.

Most would fit Filco, except the capslock and spacebar.

thx mate, the cs and kitty sets look fantastic. since chaos is doing highly customized work the price are reasonable.

The YotD uses Cherry MX switches, and these keys are indeed designed to be used for Cherry MX switches.  Almost every custom set you will find on GH is compatible with CHerry MX.  The only question is the space bar.  There are various spacings used for the spacebar stabilizers.  The main two are Cherry and Costar.  I forget which the YotD uses.

Stabs type is irrelevant. Ducky has centered stem caps lock and centerd stem space bar with 'standard' stabs spacing. Cherry which is what these CS sets are have offcenter, so caps lock and space won't be compatible without stem modding. The rest of the keys will be fine though. Also the profile on Cherry is lower than Ducky oem profile by about 1.5mm which can be odd feeling when mix matching.

Is this your board, lysol? I first saw pics of this board long time ago, and I just got shocked. I would really want to know the exact article number of it, basically it's a 3000 though.  I wonder how many of the boards still exist in the world?

Doesn't lasered keys wear off easy? I mean, 135 dollar for a CS gaming set and it wear off in 2 months. My ducky lasered pbts wore off in 5 hours (no joke). So I'm a bit scared about this :P

No they won't wear off. I don't know how to explain this well, but the laser-etched printing that Chaos uses is quite different from Ducky lasered pbt keycaps. I will take some detailed pictures tomorrow.

These type are durable. The key is dyed, then the dye layer is removed to make visable again the original key plastic. It's more of engrave really than laser. At least I think this is the same way, feng correct me if wrong.
Look forward to see what new things for the groupbuy. I would especially be interested in more colorful big set that not counter strike. I never seem to be able to get dye so nice and even when I tried it.
