Title: Hello all
Post by: bnitch on Thu, 27 September 2012, 11:18:25
I have been using the site for a little while and have gotten a lot of info so far. I'm 63yrs old and retired so I feel after using a computer for many yrs, starting with MS 3.1 and working in the digital printing industry with a machine run on Unix. Maybe its time I learned how to type. I bought a CM rapid refurb off their web site and find I like the mechanical keyboards very much. The blues Cherry mx's don't seem to make that much noise to me.
I am also going to try and learn touch typing using Colemak as I have no feeling in my left little finger, I hope it cuts down on my use of it .
I will say this about the site, there is too much asking which keyboard should I buy and which switch is best and not enough real substance on using them. And thats all I have to say about that.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Real touch typing encourages the use of the pinkies.  Although I can touch type )if I have to), I have worked out a weird compromise using my first three fingers on each hand.
