Title: Changing the switches on a Das
Post by: Blyawon on Thu, 04 October 2012, 07:19:22
Is it possible and uncomplicated to change the switches of my Das Blue at the Nuberrow only to brown or black?
And where can I buy them?

Cheers

You can get switches over at WASDkeyboards.com for a price. However as the Das is plate mounted you'll need to desolder and solder the switches on, so it can be complicated.

It's cheaper and Way easier to just buy a "new" board.

Bah, if you know how to solder it's not complex at all, just a little time consuming. I have exchanged switch on entire plate boards before. Some boards just don't come with the desired switch, so it's the only way. Especially if want something more custom like something different type on certain section.
Also if you don't mind used switch I have a whole bunch of browns available for cheap price.

That's just it, time.....   if you're bored, fine go for it... If you'd rather be USING a keyboard than making one, just go buy the damn thing already.

I personally believe the latter case is more often true.  :p :p

I'd rather do it myself, but only recently learned how to.

Buying's fine, if you can find a board with exactly the combination of switches you want.  Or pay a little extra to have one made for you.  Or employ the services of someone who can swap switches for you.
