Title: Sticky Keys
Post by: Qt Pi on Sun, 07 October 2012, 15:17:28
Tried searching for an answer on here so forgive me if this has already been answered.

While I was sitting at the computer while recovering form a pretty nasty cough I was drinking from a cup of orange juice and I starting coughing, which resulted in my spitting a bit of it out trying to hold it in.   I removed the keys from my board with haste and got it all cleaned out and there were no problems that I could notice but now that it's been a little over a week since the incident my "L" key has been sticky at times.

TL;DR Version:  How do I clean down the stem of a cherry switch?

Yes, this question comes up every now and again.  The most recent was tea, IIRC.

The only way to be sure is to nuke the key from orbit, er, sorry, got confused, the only way to be sure is to disassemble and completely clean the key, but even that may leave some residual stickiness - the key may never seem quite the same again.

A replacement switch is guaranteed to resolve the problem.

How do I remove or take apart the switch from the board though?
