So, I've been doing counting nonstop for the past 3 months, in solitude. :-X
Today, spontaneous occasion, where I am talking to a "live" female IRL, AFK.
The number of letters in the "English" alphabet came up... I said 24, //facepalm,
I've been exclusively using the Greek alphabet for all my counting problems... ^-^
Has anything like this every happen to you guys? >:D

Did you express why this number poured forth? She might thing greek is attractive.
But yes, things of this nature happened to me as well.

You choked because you were thinking of other things. Now you could have recovered by saying it was an honest mistake because you watched a Jack Bauer marathon on Netflix the day before. Step up your game!
And I get called out on mini brain-farts all the time now that my wife has an iphone attached to her hands. I used to be much smarter before smartphones. :P

I don't know what that even means. wtf?
In any case, if you have the right attitude, you could get your number of toes wrong and she's still be enamored with you.

Jack Bauer might've saved me..... But "Letters in the alphabet" is so incredibly elementary that even if I got the "save in" I would still look very stupid, down from EXTREMELY stupid... :))

I might have said 27 just to get a reaction (including & as the 27th character, as was done a while back).
-
See with 24, you could have also tried to be all smoove and say "That's because I took out two letters to get you and I close together."

Yes, this is getting quite annoying. Especially when they ask just to prove you wrong.
If they were interested in the topic it would be Ok, but if the google up "super hard questions" just to prove you wrong, then...

Intelligent, mature people aren't so picky about small mistakes. If you have low self esteem, you would panic at possibly looking foolish. For me, it would go like this...
me: "blah blah blah 24 letters..."
her: "you mean 26!"
me: "26? Ah, yes, of course. Thank you."
(then simply continue on, because nothing actually happened)
