Title: GH Charity Auction #3: fully refurbed IBM SSK with LE red clack
Post by: mkawa on Tue, 09 October 2012, 20:39:02: For the third auction in this series, I am auctioning off a fully refurbished IBM Spacesaver Keyboard with buckling springs, fully refurbished and bolt modded with brand new parts from unicomp and McMC. This keyboard includes an extremely rare red model M clickclack and a set of keys of YOUR CHOICE (I will elaborate on this shortly).

Item Details:

The keyboard pictured with a set of blank keys in the following photos:

There are two small flaws in the case of this keyboard, which i can highlight if anyone cares. I would rate the case at 9/10, however; the birthdate sticker is nearly flawless (b/d 9-25-91), as are all hinges.

*what do I mean by your choice of keys? You can select between the classic SSK keyset with the embedded numpad, the blank keyset with RGBs pictured, or any other keyset you can order from unicomp (within reason). That is, if you are international, I will order a keyset for you and ship it with your SSK.

*what do I mean by fully refurbished? I personally bolt modded this board (with help from a generous forum member) and had intended for it to be my personal daily driver. This board has brand new springs, hammers, and rubber blanket. The membrane and backplate re-used from the original board are nearly flawless and one of the best I've seen in opening a large number of SSKs.

This is a charity auction. 100% of the proceeds of this auction will be donated to geekhack. I will pay to ship this item domestically. The winner must pay any international shipping costs exceeding 30$.

This is a public auction. Post your bid as a reply below. The highest bid at the end of the auction will win the keyboard.

Damn, that is one mighty fine keyboard.

The Samoans have the best Rugby Players as well. Such a small island yet produces more athletes than many nations per head of population.

After having rescue puppies and kitties(maybe interesting tangent: adopted a kitten that I found in the spare tire well of a customer's tahoe) cost me more in vet bills, home repair bills, replacement item bills and sanity, I'm happier paying a breeder and raising a puppy from near birth.
