Title: Springs of MX Clears?
Post by: TheQsanity on Mon, 15 October 2012, 02:08:51
Is the spring of the Cherry MX Clear unique or does it have an equivalent? My guess is that It could have the same spring as the red/blue/brown or the same spring as the black but I am not sure because I do not own one.

I have a bunch. It's stiffer than MX black or green springs. It might be the same as mx grey springs, or at least around that force area. People do the ero-clear mod because the stock clear springs are too stiff, or they want to accentuate the tactile feeling of the switch.

What is the difference from the stem of the clears and the greys?
I heard of ergoclears getting stuck. Has that happened to you?
(I read on the Wiki that the greys and clears are the same but  the greys require more force.)
Can you confirm?

I have done a few ergo clears and am now using one as my daily driver and they never get stuck.

Clear spring is between black and grey. It is different. If it wasn't different I doubt Cherry would have bothered makign another stem color, as the clear and tactile grey stems are identical. Cherry use a grey on the space still on clear boards.
