Title: Best SSK or SFF Vintage Keyboard?
Post by: oTurtlez on Tue, 16 October 2012, 12:03:42
I recently did a USB conversion on a Leading Edge DC-2014 (With so much help from Soarer, thanks!) and then proceeded to give it to a family friend whom worked at LE back in the 80's. I had fun with that project so I would like to find a nice, relatively decent priced (no more than 60) keyboard to convert. Preferably ALPS as I liked the feel of the blue alps but any mechanical switch would do. Thanks in advance guys, I know someone will know what to get.

EDIT: I have too many full sized keyboards so that's why I want an SSK/SFF.

There's that Ortek MCK-84 that always looked good, the keypot/vivanco is pretty small and similar to it.
And ofcourse the siig minitouch.

Your best bet might be to get a broken fullsize ALPS and replace the keyswitches, as many of these aren't that great. I'm a little biased against ALPS, so I can't say.
