It was manufactured by Cherry. It was basically a black G80-3000 with blank keys and with an older style of the "Das Keyboard" logo printed in white instead of the Cherry logo. The switches were PCB-mounted Cherry MX Blue. The keys caps made of POM plastic

Post by: precarious on Sun, 21 October 2012, 06:53:31: yeah, been watching these for a while, they said they had ten available when they first started listing them, so there aren't too many left. i haven't seen any of them go for less than ~40-50 dollars, was hoping i could somehow grab one of these cheap but doesn't seem that's going to be happening.

are these keycaps thick or thin? i noticed you could see the switch stems/whatever in some high-res shots.

edit: they list the condition as "hardly used" and had ten of them so i doubt they're in bad shape.

looks like one sold in july for 25 on ebay, too bad that didn't happen this time around =/

I am actually unclear whether they are PBT or POM. But definitely not ABS.

But it wouldn't be ANSI, would it? I suppose you could say only the ANSI Enter, ANSI |\, and ANSI right shift are rare.

Post by: litster on Sun, 21 October 2012, 15:18:35: The two Das 2 that I have are MX blue. Don't think they were made with other MX switches, but I could be wrong. They are just like any other PCB-mount MX keyboards. And they are 2KRO only. No diodes.

G80-3000LPCXY-2 board is ANSI:

Only thing that's different keycap wise is has those stupid bubble win keys. I really hate those.

the previous that were @ .99 start all ended @ approx 50$ plus shipping
i got mine on sat for 38$ plus shipping
wich seemed like a fair deal
if they stay @ $39 the price is still reasonable

As someone who uses a Das Keyboard II, I can confirm 2KRO and offset Caps Lock.

I kind of want to pick one of these up just to have some spare keys!

How does it feel? Compared to the cherry g80. How does it feel compared to other blues?

Like poopmat said, this thing is in pristine condition. Only difference, is mine has pink paper things glued to the F and J keys.

This was a great deal, now I have spare set of black POM keys \:D/

lol, yep camera angle/these have a big angle so the one on bottom was about 1" taller than the beginning of the one on top.

I've only ever used POM sooooooo yes? Like previously mentioned, the sticker practically rubbed off with my finger.

I really want one of these DAS II's, as it looks really sharp, I've always liked the large, flat, textured look of the cherry G80-3000's, and blank POM is excellent. The only thing I don't like about the POM I have is that you can feel the infilling with your fingers too much.

I guess some people like to pay more than needed for things? Of course it was the one I had a bid on, but I don't think I am even going to try for one of the others. I forgot I had a G80-1200 (it's more better anyway, even though it just has doubleshots) on the way to me, and I don't really need another fullsize keyboard. Thanks silly ebayers.
