Title: You know how we're still in a recession?
Post by: tp4tissue on Tue, 23 October 2012, 20:04:26: Popped open my Logitech G400 mouse today to remove the middle click spring.

GUESS what I found...

They only use 2 Omron switches now, for left and right click

The rest are "Himake" a taiwanese off-brand. >:D >:D >:D >:D

The Himake switch is on the forward/back/middleclick.

I'm "GUESSING" the 3 other toggle buttons are also not OMRON any longer....

Sigh..... Damn you Obama, you've even screwed up my mouse.

The Omron switches have a very "Crisp" click

While the "Himake" switches have much more "Dull" click.

Sigh....... Sad panda...

Yup.. OBAMA Edition... sigh.....

Luckily, I've just put in the Romney Stimulus Upgrade to Full Omron ;D

The only switch you need to solder is the middle click switch.. The forward and back, you can swap with an older logitech mouse MX510/518, the TOP switch daughter board are all pin compatible..

Well, I'm just pointing out that the economy is pinched tighter than ever under Obama, and dubbed the cost cutting choices Logitech made in the G400, Obama Edition..

You see this in a lot of products actually. Huge difference between Pre and Post recession...
