Title: calling all geekhack designers! MAKING MOAR STICKERS
Post by: mkawa on Sun, 28 October 2012, 09:38:41: I'm really digging the first batch of stickers I had run for the geekhack pack. so much so that I want to run a second batch with a new design through stickerrobot. However, this time I'd like to make them larger, and with different iconography.

guidelines:

-your design should look good at sizes between 2x3 up to 4x6 and beyond. this generally means vector images with as few raster elements as possible

-you must be willing to release your work under a creative commons license

-cherry font is preferred, but open to other bubbly typefaces. we're about having fun here. geekhack is not srs business

-your design _does not_ have to be specific to keyboards. we talk about a lot of geeky stuff here at gh, and your design should reflect the panoply of geeks we have here and not just how much we love clickclack ;) (don't get me wrong, we love clickclack, we just like other stuff too!)

-i will run between 500 and 1000 of the final design. that means you should be willing to work with me to refine the design and get other prepress issues done correctly.

other than that, go crazy and post drafts here!

I can tweak the colours and I was also thinking of adding some lighting effects
depending on how you guys like it I'll make some improvements
(coloured background is only for the picture, it is supposed to be transparent)

Post by: Input Nirvana on Mon, 29 October 2012, 17:01:40: I like the dark screen with 'nostalgia'. I use similar on the Colemak forum, I wish I could darken DT. I use a 24" monitor, so I like the more muted light or it would burn out my eye sockets.

I'm having fun with the sticker design on illustrator, It's not a huge success so far but I'm usually pretty good at doing useless things so I'll carry on!
I'm working on a kind of 8 bits scene with famous faces but is it supposed to be sticked on the front of the keyboard case?
because in this case that leaves very few room for fun details.

this made me think keyboard wasn't needed in the design, I used keycaps instead to draw Donkey Kong and the space Invader
I have a tenkeyless scheme designed somewhere I can try to set it on the background.
I'll see where I can fit the .org

Looks like nobody is interested in this anyway...any input guys?

there is no rasterized element in this, I drew everything on illustrator, it's scalable so it can fit a keyboard cap or a bus side (or SmallFry's car ;)).

yeah I agree, in the end I'm no big fan of the last one with the tkl add-on.
it doesn't really match the 8 bit theme, but I don't see how to fit a keyboard in here, any ideas?
it also has to read geekhack.org somewhere hence the legend on the tkl but we need sthg different
bring it on guys, unleash your creativity!

this 8 bits design might be to specific for the common liking

I was thinking about taking that cherry logo

and replacing the cherries with keycaps (3D with different angles and tilt) that would have G, H and some other character yet to be chosen
and of course GEEKHACK.org instead of CHERRY,
