As of now my next keyboard buy is most likely going to be a Topre board, so I would like some insight from someone who has had experience with these boards. My main question right now is: which configuration 45g or 55g will most likely fit my standards?
So as of now I have experienced: mx blue (Leopold TKL), mx brown (Zowie Celeritas), mx red (KBT pure), and lastly buckling springs (Unicomp UltraClassic). The switches I prefer as of now are mx blue and red, as I find them to fit my needs of typing (school work) and gaming quite adequately. The mx brown switches are decent overall, however I feel they are a bit 'mushy' at times. Also I find that the mx black spacebar of the Zowie Celeritas has drawn me away from them. Lastly, the Unicomp UltraClassic has been a bit of a a mixed bag for me - For one I find that the buckling springs are great for typing and general use, but in gaming applications which require rapid keypress it is a complete let down, and secondly I find my fingers to be a bit fatigued after long sessions.
Reflecting on this I would assume that 45g would be the right choice, however I would like some other opinions :)

nothing you have tried is going to prepare you for topre feel except maybe the rare nicer old rdoms.
i have not tried 55g but i can say that i absolutely love my 45g - so much that i just dont really care about trying 55g.

Everyone's gonna have different answers for you. Myself, I have both of those keyboards (uniform 45g and uniform 55g) and I prefer the one with heavier switches. If you find BS too heavy for you after a long session then yeah, 45g might be better for you.
If you're in LA, we can meet up and I'll let you try both before you buy. lol

I prefer 55g, but I can use a BS board without excessive strain on my fingers. 45g isn't bad by any stretch though and is definitely closer to reds/browns/blues than 55g.

It's another one of these... I prefer my 55g for both gaming and typing. But I prefer my 45g over MXs, except for when I play Osu! Really depends on wheter you like lighter or heavier switches.
If you can afford it, try both!

I highly recommend 45g over 55g
I tried 55g first but it just felt waaay too heavy while playing games
like you need light touch for fast apm in Starcraft 2 and I keep getting stuck between keys
and it slowed my hands down a lot :[
so I sold my All-55g board and bought a 45g one and it felt a lot better!
but the twist is that I still went back to Cherry MX Reds because I prefer those over any other switches for gaming.
I just play really really good on cherry reds than any other keyboards I've used so far

if you are used to MX blue/red I'd get a 45. I use a blue as my daily keyboard, I tried a 55 and it's really too stiff for my tastes (YMMV)

I like 45g Though it seems 50 would probably be perfect :P

tried 30g 45g i think the actuation of both feels the same but the 30g keys have such little tactility they seem mushy.... i would think anything heavier then 45g to be too much 45g!!!!
