Noone looking to sell a KMAC has to bother checking WTB threads.  They can just put it up for sale and it will be gone in seconds.

Quite a few KMAC sales have been done more privately than posting an open sale in classifieds. Seems most would rather do it privately.

Best of luck with your search, h2oxide.

I bet someone would be willing to sell if you're offering 1-2k USD/ rare CCs :)

Cheers for the prompt replies, availability sounds terrible. Oh well, I've heard MKC* will be releasing their own alu keyboard soon. Are the rumors true? If not I may have to spend a shocking $325 on their current alu Filco case.

The KMAC team just released the KMAC2.  Sale is already over.  They only make a few hundred.
There was no opportunity for regular folks to buy it.  I have asked several people point blank how I could get an opportunity to buy one, and they all ignore the question.  If you aren't in the club, you're peering in from the outside.

Also, I think you may be confused.  MKC is not the same as KMAC.

Yep, Kmac 1.2 and Kmac 2 all sold out -_-

Edited previous post, yes I've heard MKC are making their own alu keyboard. That'd keep me busy.

I actually have one aluminium key by MKC, and I've ordered an aluminium spacebar. If the spacebar is good as well I think I might pay some money for that keyboard. Until then I'm saving up :)

I'll probably never get to do be on the elitist list for those exotic keyboards, but settling for something similar but different wouldn't hurt:).

All in all I think patience(and money!) is required in this hobby of ours.

How much were the KMACs worth?

Best resale price I saw so far (and heard from a couple more "private" sales) was around $350, iirc. I'd bet a few people got them direct from Korea for cheaper, but I don't know. I'm sure someone can correct me.

Only 150 Kmac 2s were made, and prices for kmac 1s range from 350-450 depending on how many people you have to split the shipping cost, and whether or not it has been already assembled.

I believe the price for the kmac 2's in the original sale last week was $395 USD. That is the "kit", consisting of case, switch plate and PCB.

It was $340/$350 not $395...

Plus shipping to the US and it's close to $400 though.

I don't know about a TNS, but the KMAC keys can be fully reprogrammed to anything you want.

Well by the time you figure in the KMAC kit, Switches, Springs, Stabilizers, Stickers, Silicon mat, LEDs, Fancy screws, Assembly, and shipping I am well over $400 on mine before you even begin talking about keycaps. Although if the right offer came along... IDK I might consider it lol.

A few hundred? How are these not available to more people then? Maybe I underestimate the number of people willing to buy them. I'm sure regular KMACs will filter down to those on the outside when the new shiny KMAC2s start arriving.

I think it was 100 or 150 made. Not too many people like the kmac2 because of the little gold block.

I liked that gold block, however IIRC they changed the block color for the final KMAC II's.

Didn't know they changed the color, Hope they made it the same color as the case

They did. :( I liked the gold block, however I would have used it without any blocks as I like the 85 (at least), preferably the 86 key layout. I like the idea of 1 unit windows keys since I don't need a Menu key and 1.25 other keys. Either way, I should stop threadcrapping this thread. GLWB!
