Looking forward to this thread ;DHope yo udont mind if I feature your KMAC as well.
Seeing how fast you're jumping on this and will have it done makes me sad that mine won't be done for awhile. Probably nothing for e for the end of the year. So I shall live vicariously through you and your thread.Yea the only parts im waiting on are lube and a spacebar wire which are both stuck on the east coast at this time otherwise i think I would have tried to bang the thing out in one sitting. What can I say, im anxious to get this thing working to start testing out layouts.

Don't mind at all, I'm actually quite interested and have always loved WIP threads
How about a video with talking commentaries for the newbs too ;)Now, I think thats asking too much. And im sticking to pictures so if you have questions about some that I post ask away!
Anyone have a Enlish KMAC manual? Can't find it anywhere else.i think there was one but its not up to date with the latest firmware or something you should ask in the main KMAC DIY thread.
Coming along nicely. Looking forward to seeing it completed. What weight are those springs?62g
Why do you have to solder diodes, I thought the KMAC pcb came with them already installed.my KMAC LE did not have any diodes on it at all had to solder them all on, the whole time wishing i had a finer tip.
So awesome! I need to start some kind of project, so i wouldn't be jelly all the time.. Cant wait to see it completed!well the first KMAC should be completed by the end of the week hopefully (pertaining lube delivery). As for the rest thpse havnt even made it to me yet... Id start a project for my custom Filcos also but all thats left is the lubing of the switches as i progressively been working on them over time.
Time to update dem photos Prof :))Well KMAC is completed for the most part pics will be up soon I have to reinstall photoshop on Win8
Looking good! I like the sig update too :)Thanks, cant wait for the proper zinc keycaps though!
Was it hard to figure out the led?
Prof, I just saw a picture of the lube on your switches. I think you should re-mod them, you've put WAY too much lolthey feel fine....? on the rest ill keep the lube down i need a new application method my hand hurts after using that syringe for so long. Also does lubing the springs really do anything I have my doubts...

Sorry this may be a little off topic but... I understand KMAC is probably the best Cherry MX board out there right now, however for some people (like me) buying a DIY board like this is almost like gambling. Sure I love mechanical keyboard, however I have practically no experience with assembling/modding any keyboards. So what I'm trying to say is that for the certain people who want top notch quality - could potentially botch the keyboard job and lose their money. Does that make sense or am I just crazy? It makes sense, and if the concern for that is too great for you to risk, there are certainly people out there who will help you put it together. It may cost more, but that's the price you pay.
nice, looks awesome!thanks!
Just wondering, does the nonslip roll help it feel any different?I have not tried it without it but i know when i added it to other keyboards it felt like it tightened stuff up and it lowered the noise while typing.

Might be a long wait if you're not on the prototyping team...yea i still havnt goten my protoboard so like all GH projects itll be a while.
Hey prof, quick question. Do you happen to know the length of the spacebar stabilizer wire off hand? I have one that's a bit too long I need to bend.havnt a clue but i can measure it. Ive always just had alaricljs make me new ones since hes got the wire and the bender.
Yea I've been waiting for some from him in the mail, but I fear they may have gotten lost. Oh well, I'll just compare with another board and give it a try.Hey prof, quick question. Aside from which there are 2 completely different firmwares available for the Phantom and enough information available to write your own or adapt yet another one that is available to it. :)hasu FTW!
