Title: What is this, and does it matter?
Post by: nethowler on Tue, 06 November 2012, 14:30:35
Bought this for $3.  The keycaps looked like Cherry MX but they don't fit.  I was considering sanding down the bottom of the caps so see if I can make them fit.  Has anyone had any luck with such a mod?

stem mount is too close to the keywall, it won't work. You would have to remove the entire stem, and replace it. I think that is too much effort, but that is your call.

Or maybe if you had a modified case, where the very front was trimmed back to allow for the difference, would that work?

Doesn't work. Lysol is dead on here. I've encountered these in my e-cycling center exploration and they will not travel enough to activate the switch because of the stem location.

Ah, because of their height?

I was thinking about sanding them down from the bottom to lower the stem height, and overall height of the key.  Not sure about how to get around the stem placement.
