Title: SSK Spacebar
Post by: The_Beast on Wed, 07 November 2012, 17:49:13
I'm looking at Unicomps website about to order a different color spacebar, is the spacebar "small" or "large"?

Funny that you just ask because I was browsing just now and was wondering the same thing for my SSK.

MMB sold me his SSK with a blank set (and a printed set) and I wanted to see how well I could type with black keys. However they are gray and my spacebar is beige and it's quite distracting

I was thinking about getting the black otaku keys for my SSK. Do you have a picture of what it would look like? I might ending up going with the original blank color scheme.

This image from bini may help.  However I can't open it on my tablet, so maybe it won't?

AFAIK its the large spacebar, the smaller one is only for the 104 key layout boards.  You could always submit a ticket with Unicomp and be sure.

Yes, the small space bar is for the 104 boards.  For an ssk, you want the long one.

Their website could use a lot of tweaking to make things clearer.

Yea they could be a lot more clear about a lot of things on their site :(

That's what I thought but I wanted to make sure. I'm probably going to hold off until RA comes out of BS. I'm hoping it comes out before Christmas

why hold off? they won't be dyesubbing the spacebars, and you can get the cheaper shipping price for a single spacebar (shouldn't be more than a buck or two to ship) if you contact support

They really should just put exactly that in their description. It seems you talk with them (?). Why not suggest it?
many fish to fry at the moment. please feel free to start a support ticket regarding this point. i'm sure they will fix it. i am also sure that i won't remember to fifteen minutes from now

It looks like they updated it after my ticket. (http://pckeyboard.com/page/Buttons/SB)
