Title: Alternate forms of communication
Post by: Internetlad on Thu, 08 November 2012, 12:23:49
So I was working on my NATO Phonetic Alphabet (I do a lot of reading off numbers and letters to old people over the phone, so it's worth it for me) and it got me to thinking. You know in like, Independence Day where they use Morse Code to communicate without the aliens knowing what they're talking about? I've always thought it would be interesting to know Morse (if useless, for how often i'd (n)ever use it) But does anybody have any experience communicating in any "alternative" forms, be it written code besides english (I used to know that lord of the rings elf language or whatever, how nerdly.)

I'm thinking more made up languages or dead languages and codes than like "Oh, I speak French fluently" but if you can communicate in anything other than your native language, throw it out there!

EDIT: Found this site http://www.learnmorsecode.com/

seems like a pretty cool system! I might try it out later.
