You wouldn't solder them, unless you could wire them to get power from the USB.

Other than that, I believe the only way would be to drill holes into the PCB, then make traces to all of them. I don't think you'd want to do all of that, but if you do, I'd be interested in seeing that!

looks like christmas.. hahaha. i guess i'll just shove the led's into the switches them string them up and connect them to the usb. it'll be sooo messy... Le Sigh...

Now you can guess why people ask others, "Do you really need a keyboard with christmas lights?" when mocking backlit keyboards.

Although there do exist non-backlit keyboards that are designed so that you can add LEDs-- Plum 96, for instance-- I'm pretty sure the QFR is not one of them.

You may be happier with the results if you just sell the QFR and buy something backlit than if you go to great lengths to try and force the QFR to become backlit.

the plum is already on it's way from china since like 3 days ago. i saw some people modding theirs QFRs' and i tot why not mod mine as well... the desoldering is gonna be such a hassle T.T

there's plenty of mods you can do to a CM quickfire, but adding LED backlit for all the keys is not one of them. There are no traces in the PCB to support the LEDs.
