A couple of group buys were trying to make it heppen. I didn't follow the outcome of it, but I was saying that it would be quite likely not working properly and many objected my view.

They are available for sale at TechKeys.us
-
works perfectly

I'M USING ONE RIGHT NOW!

I have just installed some from there, and they work fine.
Low-profile, so they are lower than my OEM keys, but that just means they are extra-hard to hit by mistake!
I bought pure white on black; he also has black on off-white.

I have one as well.

I hear they fit better (more flush) if you desolder the switch and drill a small hole in the switch's bottom housing where the dimple is. Then you install the cap using a toothpick through the hole you drilled to keep the stem in place.
-
I find myself pushing the switch down (when I actually do use caps, which is hardly ever) in the center anyway, right on the right edge of the top. Probably muscle memory. I don't see it being a problem for me. It does help with the accidental hitting of it though.
-
Would it allow the key to be fully pressed? or would the part of the cap hit the switch casing first?

You can press it down just fine. Nothing hits anything.
-
It almost certainly will make it to the actuation point without bumping the switch housing, AFAICT. Bottoming out may be a different story.

Good to know, I might just order one for fun. Too bad that using caps-lock as control key isn't very popular. Really looking forward to one with "control" legend.

Maybe suggest it to 13oilermaker in his sub?

Weyman at WASD told me that if I supply him with a blank keycap he can laser with whatever will fit.

Stuff from WASD won't do. I am looking for the key profile close to the Cherry sets. So it would pretty much have to come from SP.

Yes, exactly. WASD can laser a PBT key from SP with a custom legend.

The legend bothers me more than the profile of the key. I think they need to be thicker to more closely match the surrounding keys.
-
Legend can't be thicker unfortunately. I was told by Melissa that the cutter we used was the thickest one possible given the tight detail in for example the lower case a.
A thicker legend might be possible with a custom cutter, but that is extra expense and then you'd want to recut allthe moogle legends at that width. And you might still want to go thicker with yet another custom cutter.

Agree. The thickness of the font is actually pretty darn close. Can't really complain much for the price we paid for the moogle kits.

Shameless plug there. Buy from Brad!

Yes, huge props to boiler for making the center stemmed stepped caps lock happen. :thumb:
-
Agreed! Nice guy too! Very tall.
-
"Very tall", says SmallFry ;)
-
Well he is! He towered over me!
-
How tall are you, if you don't mind my asking, and if it doesn't drag this conversation too far off topic?
-
5'9".
-
'bout 6'3" here
-
He's going to tower over me too haha.
-
Rowdy is just under 6'2".
Only 6 inches difference between you (SmallFry) and i3oilermaker.
Ok, back on topic please :)
