Hello,
I purchased hpe 87 keyboard with blue switches.
I plugged in my laptop(ubuntu 12.04) . The next day the keyboard don't use power and it was "dead". Today I tried it again because I tried it again (because I sent a message to qtan for exchange) and it worked again for all day. I closed my laptop again and now it has the same problem... No use of power.
I tried it to another two pc's with windows 7 and xp. When I connect it with xp it worked, then I connect it with my laptop and it didn't work, then I connect it again in windows xp desktop and it didn't work again.
Maybe, it has low stamina :)
I would be grateful if anyone knows what is the problem. I don't want to send it back if it's not defective.
Qtan is a great seller and he has no problem for exchange

Welcome to GH.
I sometimes have a similar issue with my Noppoo Choc Mini when it's connected through PS/2. I won't tell you why, because I'd like to know it too.

Thank you my friend.
I found a lot of information from geekhack.
I hope it's a problem that I can solve with small cost.

However, I had a problem like this with a mouse, it randomly stopped & started working until it "died" on me. I eventually found out that USB connector wasn't properly connected *inside* the mouse. It was unbelievably easy to fix it.

I will make a question in a hardware shop tomorrow. I hope it can be fixed , otherwise I'll send it back :(
It is my first mechanical keyboard and it is ...Ohh! perfect!

All known Cherry MX switch keyboards have a key spacing of 19mm.
However the website says HPE 87 has a key spacing of 20mm.
Could u confirm or deny the 20mm claim?
Do it for Keyboard Science :D
