Title: Anyone going to the 2012 Keyboard Party in Taipei?
Post by: exousia7 on Wed, 28 November 2012, 09:57:19
There is a "Keyboard Party" hosted in Taipei this year on 12/1, and I'm wondering if anyone from the GH community is going??

Do you know what's the event called?  Can't find any info on it.

Or it is one of those private forum meet up type of events?

The event link is this:
http://www.iqmore.idv.tw/2012-taiwan-keyboard-party-register

It's all in Chinese though. Basically people come in and give "lectures" about keyboards including different types of keyboards, keycaps, etc. And later on there is a whole variety of keyboards they put out on display for everyone to try out.

I'm originally from Taiwan and I would love to go! Currently stuck at work in the states though  :(

Funny thing I noticed...on the event page they listed the keyboards that are going to be there for display/try out. Under Cherry it just says too many to list lol

Met some interesting folks, had some interesting conversations. For example, who's the mystery OEM behind QF TK. CM's rep was very straight forward about this.

Exousia7, I will make you buy at least 20 more keyboards.
iqmore is awesome. We're totally on the same page in our keyboard collecting habits. We definitely need to get together more. Good times.

*Didn't bring my camera on purpose. I'll just post links from people who aren't too lazy to bring camera.
**Edit: Ya... do people actually use that as a key chain. HMMMMMM. I may just steal the keycap and temporarily have it on the keyboard... eventhough it isn't blank. I guess I can tolerate it like my KBT Squirrel (http://geekhack.org/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=33155.0;attach=8566;image)...

I had a really great time at the keyboard party, met lots of incredible people, and I got the chance to touch and feel a lot of keyboards (man I love the feel of IBM Model M).

laffindude....I'll see about getting 20 more keyboards HAHAHAHA. Probably in the future when I have my own job and have my own stable income to afford keyboards :P

I got 3 of those switch keychains and I replaced 2 of them to brown and blue switches =D

Mind sharing it with us?  Unless it's suppose to be a company secret then nvm (Maybe they need to sign some paper to not reveal it).  In that case we'll just wait till someone takes a QuickFire TK apart  :P

But either we we need... picturesssssssssss !!!!!!
