Post by: dorkvader on Mon, 10 December 2012, 09:28:27
I make these topics, and no-one seems to be interested.
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121021457189?

Black tipro 128, MSR addon, PS2, full matrix, NKRO (I believe?) Would be an excellent gaming board if true.

Best part is:

I have approx 50 of these if you want quantity give me a call 07787433271
Anyone in the UK want to call? If we got several of these for a lower price (like 15-20 GBP) each, I'd definitely be interested)

Yeah, I'd love to get one of those, but am in the US. Please tell me someone in the UK can help out. :D

Do these use cherry switches?

According to the thread over at DT, these come with plate mounted MX Blacks.

Woohoo, I was able to find a contact in the UK to proxy one of these over to me. Now the quest to find the perfect layout begins.

Thanks!

First of all, to answer some questions:
1. The black things do appear to be switch blockers. There sholud be a switch under there. They are pretty useful for getting your layout working how you want.
2. Sholud be plate mounted blacks
3. Lasered ABS keycaps, I believe. I think even the printed ones are pretty interchangeable, though I only have one set of tipro keycaps now
4. Hoggy has said he'd like to proxy items out of the UK for GH'ers. See this topic (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=37277.0)

Okay. Dgsbllx, see if you can contact him for a lot of 10. I want to run a small GB for these, and I'm sure I can find 10 people who want one (especially given how fast those 5 sold) If he won't give a discount for a qty that low, try 15. Any more and I'll have to take money first (unless someone else wants to GB these. I have no objections)

I would like to see 10GBP/each in quantity, but 15 GBP is okay. Shipping sholud not be per each, if he's sending your 10 in bulk.

The ebay listing is down now...

Anyone here get them in quantity?

If so, I would be willing to buy one shipped to the US (msg me).

(oh, wait, plate mounted blacks... nevermind. Only interested in PCB mounted.)

Same topic in DT, here's a quote from a post I made there:

Quote
Sturdy construction with metal body plate and plastic upper case, plate-mounted Cherry black switches, awesome programming software enabling complete keystroke sequences on each key on four levels(!).
A caveat though: keyboards manufactured by Tipro for big customers may have some inactive switches under double keys. This means that two switches are actually present, but one of them doesn't have a spring and acts as a (perfect) stabilizer. To insert a spring, the switch must be desoldered as it is plate-mounted and cannot be opened from the top.

The keycaps are most probably (never seen anything else on Tipros) two-piece clipped together, exactly like Cherry relegendables but much flatter, the upper part being pad printed. This upper part can be replaced with a transparent lid (or any other fitting lid for that matter, see there:

He should absolutely check all double keys to ascertain both switches underneath are active, i.e. have a spring in them.

Good point.

I would also like to note that he has not re-listed his items, if he's out, then all of this is moot.
