If you're only taking keyboard-related pics, then a decent point-and-shoot camera would be fine. I'm using a cannon ELPH 300 HS (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004J41T7Q/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B004J41T7Q&linkCode=as2&tag=635816-20) and it's pretty good for macro shots. I think Dan uses the same camera for all his pics too. Here's an example, everything is on automatic since I haven't taken the time to learn all the settings lol. With some time to play around with the settings, I'm sure it can look even better.

Tripod is a necessity, since it will help you get great sharp photos in any light. A Gorillapod as Turbo Slaab recommended would be perfect for this sort of thing. You can mount your camera anywhere, e.g. your monitor, your lamps, edge of the table... Otherwise you could get a cheap full-sized tripod and place that just beside your desk.yea i was just writing up the above reply as your reply came in do you have any specific ideas for the current area that I work in? recent pics from when I was working on my KPAD are here (http://tinyurl.com/cl3wwn8).
Sorry to be slightly off-topic, but do you use a tripod or something holding the camera up?
Getting a live feed from the camera to your computer is probably not possible for any camera short of a DSLR. I've used a few different software with Nikon DSLRs, but there aren't any for Point-and-Shoot cameras that I know of.Well as the title on this thread says im looking for a DLSR and Macro Lens that is still the case

yes but they probably wouldnt risk the added development costs but anyways still on the look for a dslr like the OP is mentioning.Getting a live feed from the camera to your computer is probably not possible for any camera short of a DSLR. You would think that would be easy enough to incorporate into a point and shoot through simple software.
I think id prefer a higher end older camera then a new but lower end one. I dont know if its correct to think this way, if its not someone please tell me. Also id like to get a true macro lens if possible I dont want to half ass anything here if possible.
ok does the one you listed support any of the features im looking for. Also would you at all recommend going used or say older but in the same line to save some cash?I think id prefer a higher end older camera then a new but lower end one. You don't need to get a highend camera to get great pics. I've seen people with expensive cameras and take ****ty pics.
Don't upgrade to a higher end camera until you out grown the lower end(txi)

yea I just looked up the spec and it seems to have just about everything I was looking at. Would you happen to know the model of a maco lens for it? Also what would i need for a remote i would prefer wireless if at all possible. Would I need both of there or just the wireless one http://tinyurl.com/csx2v9h http://tinyurl.com/cervfblok does the one you listed support any of the features im looking for. Pretty much.
I have a Canon XSi with two kit lenses if you are interested. I think one lens is 18-55, and the other 70-300 if I remember correctly. I know it isn't a macro lens but it is a good start. I don't think this body is capable of taking pictures straight to the computer, but if you flash the internal rom I think this camera is able to "transform" into a higher end Canon that can.yea it is missing that feature but that might be a good start for me depending on price. The other thing I noticed its missing is SDXC which would be nice for a larger faster card. sent you a PM danielucf
Also low light quality pictures come from the lens and not the DSLR camera body so I think you would want to find something with a low f-stop.

I'm using manfrotto 496RC2. They are great combo. You may try 498 one. It may be better if you want to use heavy tele lens.
