Should have a hammer and sickle keycap on Esc for the full effect ;)
-
Nice. lister - I didn't know you were a Russophone.
-
Nice build lister. Can we see more shots of this board? :)
-
Nice carpet.
-
Very nice!!!
-
Now THAT's a pretty keyboard.
-
WOW, that is a stunning piece of equipment and an awesoem picture, as always.
-
Something about your carpet makes this photo look much better than the one you had posted on Deskthority. Also the blanks are much nicer than the black on red cherries you had originally used. :]
-
Nice carpet.
Literally so clean, Almost looks as if it's just been laid.
-
Man that thing looks sick!
-
OP upated with more pictures.
-
Nice!!!!
-
just been laid.
TWSS. Either way, looks sharp:) where did you get those blanks?

The blanks came from G80-2550 / 2551. That set also has a blue hand bag capslock and a blue Esc keycap (both are pad-printed.

The carpet is 6 to 7 years old, but it looks like new still. We (aka not me) vacuum weekly. But berber carpet is very nice.

Don't ya just hate the way the USB cable is attached to the PCB on the Cheats? I bought a connector and soldered it to the PCB to save wear and tear.

I want to do that too. Would you please post a picture or two of your USB connector on the PCB? Thanks.

Really nice combo between the case and the Russian legends, litster. Congrats on a wonderful looking board :)
-
That looks really great, it's almost an piece of art, that color combination, just stunning!
-
That thing is a piece or art. Looks so damn good and so "professionnal".

There isn't a good place to securely mount a USB connector that I can see. That is why I am interested in finding out how jcrouse did it.
-
Geez litster, now ya make me feel bad. I am afraid everyone misunderstood. I din't say USB connector and certainly not the ultomate, which would be detachable. I just hated the ****ting job done at the "factory" and wanted to clean things us a little. I have two cheats. They were both different. The first two pics is what I started with and the last pic is what I did. It is simply a male 4 pin fan connector (from FrozenCPU, I think) and the corresponding female on the end of the cable. Unfortunately it is not "standard USB and i can't use the 10 custom cables I made a couple of months ago. As you know, space is quite linited between the mount point and the inside rear of the case. That coupled with having not machining available limite what I could do.

[attach=2]
[attach=3]
Sorry to disappoint,
John

don't hate on keyboards with attach cables!!!!

Thanks jcrouse for the pictures. That makes sense. The only other thing I can think of is to solder on a little pigtail/dongle that is hanging outside the case and can be connected to a USB cable.
