Title: replace windows keycaps realforce
Post by: blackrim on Thu, 20 December 2012, 08:47:28
Does anyone have a good way to replace the windows keycaps (the dome is really annoying) on the realforces without getting a whole set and using arrow keys or something similar? I really don't want to have to buy a whole set of keycaps to replace two keys.

Quite simply, Move both Window keys to "Right Ctrl" and "right function position"

Those are a very uncommon place for you hands to be..

Hm, I think we may be talking about different things. I want to actually remove and replace the keys with ones that don't have domes. I actually don't use the keys at all (linux user anyway). I just don't like the domes.

In gnome it's quite useful. It brings the app menu with the search bar (by default I think)

I don't know what you could replace them with. Elite Keyboards has topre sets (http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=access,toprekeys) but those have the same Windows keys; even the blank sets.

Yeah, my current worst case scenario would be buying a blank set from EK and replacing the windows keys (and some of the others while I am at it) with arrow keys or some of the others that are low on the keyboard and the same size. Not a great option.

Well if you are fine with red, I have a spare red menu key that you can use for the windows key that I can sell.
