Title: Hi from mashby
Post by: mashby on Wed, 26 December 2012, 18:23:27
Stumbled back into mechanical keyboards after punching my Apple BT keyboard and rendering it non-functional.  >:D

Didn't even know that there was such a thing as tenkeyless, but I loved the layout of my Apple keyboard and missed the buckling springs from my IBM Model M. One thing lead to another and now I'm here. I wrote about about it on my blog (http://mashby.com/2012/12/keyboard-fever/).

I'm currently using a KBT Race S with Cherry MX Blues, which I plan to hand off to my wife once I can get my hands on a KBC Poker with blues. Until then, I'm trolling GH and DT compiling lists of mods and keycaps and wishing I'd hit my 60 post cap so I can post in the marketplace.

There is so much freakin' information and lingo to learn and I greatly appreciate all the kindness everyone has shown me both in PM's and in my response to posts. The only thing missing is a time machine, so I can take advantage of all the great GB's I've missed over the past couple of years.  :p

Welcome to Geekhack!

A well-written blog entry.

I, too, have punched a keyboard, but a cheap Dell rubber dome keyboard (I say in my defence - is anyone going to stand up and defend a Dell RD keyboard?).

And you only need 60 posts to start a new thread - you can reply to existing threads right now :)

Thanks guys!

I have to say, coming from someone who is just getting back in to mechanical keyboards and completely new to the GH community, you guys have been very welcoming. Thank you.
