Is the spacebar effected in the height of lower profile and Cherry profile keycaps?
-
Yeah, from what I know each profile has its own spacebar. Lower profile set = lower profile sapcebar in general
That is why many people prefer the Cherry Spacebar as oppossed to the SP spacebar which is said to be "sharp". I have only used OEM so far though, that is just what seems to be true based on what i've heard.

SP space bars are like razor blades. But I use them anyway like a manly man.

you'll need to mod a cherry spacebar to fit it on a modern board, unless you're going winkeyless/7x.
personally i use a stock filco spacebar with my cherry doubleshots / dye subs, since i'm a lazy cretin and haven't modded the other one yet. i'm pretty sure i would enjoy the cherry space bar a whole lot more, though.

I've used an SP spacebar for a long time now, and I don't get why people think they are sharp. I even type in such a way that I usually only hit the edge of the space-bar and it just doesn't seem all that sharp to me...
I guess I am just strange.

are you using the legs on your keyboard? the SP spacebars are more or less designed for that, otherwise the angle is horrible.

I just bought my first set of SP profile keys and I'm very disappointed in the spacebar. I didn't know what to call it, but hearing people refer to it as "sharp" is I think spot on.
I have a KBT Pure, so I suppose it's using the OEM profile, and I was really looking forward to the CCnG set I bought, but this spacebar is just awful.

Try turning your SP spacebar up side down so that the razor side is to the back
