Just a cheap brown switch keyboard, my friend said if I am looking for a new keyboard, I should get a mechanical keyboard and it should have brown switches, I am on a £60 budget and in the UK, Scotland, to be more specific, any help is appreciated! :)

Hello, I am the friend that he has mentioned.
-
I can confirm this. Hi Ewan! :D
-
Does the keyboard have to actually work?
For how long?
Or do u just want the brown switches and don't care if the keyboard breaks in 90 days?
-
I want a keyboard that will last long, like, a couple of years.
And yes, it does have to work.
-
With a tight budget (including shipping) perhaps keep an eye on classifieds here and at deskthority.net (they get more Euro traffic).
-
Do u want
A: UK Layout
B: US Layout
C: Don't care as long as its a quality keyboard?

I have a Qpad MK50 in Brown switches and ANSI layout. Got it when it was at first introduced by QPad, used for about a week and then kept it. I would say it is 'as new' only one end is dusty cause it stuck out of the bag that I kept it in (opps) I can give it a good wipe.
And I am based in London, UK. So no worries about crazy shipping costs ;D
If it sounds good to you or if you want pics/more info, shoot me a PM.

Has some for around that price, but doesn't say whether it is blue or brown switches. Probably blue - they seem to be more common than browns.

I am also looking for a brown switch keyboard.
Needs: Under £60
UK Layout
Brown switches
Can be blank.
Preferably has writing on the keys.
Any help is appreciated.

+1 on the classifieds
Also if you're not too worried about second hand i'd keep an eye out on ebay as well. They don't come up too often, but the odd ones do.
Welcome to the forum!

Too bad you missed the Rosewills with Reds for $25 on newegg. Could have found a proxy.

Could you stretch your budget to £65?

You could as well have a look at the compaq MX 11800.
They have MX browns, an integrated trackball, even PBT caps sometimes and you can find them for around 25£ usually. It's a g80-1800 style layout, so not exactly your standard layout but it's easy to catch and at that price that remains a very good starter board. Thing is, it usually has PS2 connection only so you either need a PS2 port or an adapter.
