I do my ergonomic keyboard. Controller on at90usb162, keys Cherry MX Black, housing acrylic (laser cut in fablab). It's almost ready, all the source files will be available on github.

layout:

Implemented two hardware layout: Qwerty and phonetic JCUKEN.
Will be fast hardware autorepeat the second tap of a button, wrote about Jef Raskin.
Plan to make additional modes to dial with one hand (for designers), chord mode, Morse mode, games mode, enter numbers, etc.

Woah! Cool board!

Looking Good!

Fancy fancy. Those keys are interesting.

Looks really nice
I myself liked this version (and hopefully last), angles reminiscent design knife Kershaw 1990.
-
I like this a lot. Good work! Keys remind me of an old cash register I operated back as a kid (which I was especially fond of typing on)

Looking sweet!

Very interesting! However I am mystified at the apparent lack of dedicated keys for backspace, del, etc.
-
I do see the backspace on the bottom left, the rest must be on a layer that's not called out in the legends.

mm... he could burn himself on the arm, then fall into some wet spot, get a severe bacterial infection, feint in his house, no one checks on him for days, as he must be somewhat miserly to pursue our beloved hobby to begin with... and boom dead.

Great looking board, but I really don't understand the key mapping. Is that a standard layout?
-
Any keys easy to press Fn because Fn fingertips, it's better than to stretch to distant keys.
Solder long course, 60 keys to tin contacts into the housing Cherry MX diode, solder it to the touch, cut 120 wires tin them soldered to the buttons.
But now was able to realize their keyboard fantasies. This forum has helped me greatly in creating Catboard.

The layout is standard, plus my custom (phonetic from Russian JCUKEN), instead of my can do any other such Dvorak, and it is hardware, no need to reconfigure the operating system in which the QWERTY.

} else if (mod_keys & (KEY_CTRL+KEY_RIGHT_CTRL+KEY_ALT+KEY_RIGHT_ALT)) {
key_code = layer1[key_id];
Made the keyboard shortcuts from the standard layout, I think fans layouts similar to Dvorak, will appreciate it. That's especially Colemak left XCV in QWERTY, I have in my custom layout now also :)

Added numeric keypad, Fn Lock, created a website project: http://catboard.klava.org/ (to get used to the new keyboard is a simulator http://klava.org/)

kewl! don't like the keycaps though.

Added layout Dvorak, switching layouts posted on the site of the old arrangement of keys Shift.

This is wild, I've always wanted a keyboard to set over my laptop keys.

This was the first requirement for the development of the keyboard, I have been working only on the laptop, sometimes on the road for 10" netbook.

LOL, x120e, I've got one of those too... SLOWWWWWW..... even with an SSD it's slow... sigh..... >:D

I have been working on this netbook, I like it more than a desktop, X120e enough for web development. All source files for Catboard created on it: SVG files created in Inkscape, compiling C-files to flash controller.

Nice Board! That's one chill layout. ^^

Shouldn't it be called Batboard?
Looks like the keyboard Batman would have in the Batcave.

You are right, the keyboard is more like a bat. I called it Catboard even when housing was another form, but in the bottom of the keyboard has been a hole in the shape of the head cat.
In Russian bat called "flying mouse" :)

whoa...

Wow that is the coolest looking Ergo keyboard I've seen !! Must be fun to use looks good for gaming too.

Yes, yes it does

Holy **** this is cool! How does that etching work? Can you explain a little about the PCB production?
Edit: Can you also post the link to the GitHub?

In GitHub until details of the first keyboard on the second publish after I finish working on it.
Brief description of the process of manufacturing the boards:
1. Adhesive tape stuck on copper;
2. Carved in FabLab 40W laser contour paths;
3. Immediately removed the excess tape with a knife (if at a later time, the glue will stick to the board);
4. Cleansed with absolute alcohol;
5. Etch the ammonium persulfate (you can ferric chloride) for 40 minutes per charge;
6. Removed the knife remains of the skin;
7. He took off residual adhesive nail polish remover (acetone can), washed in water;
8. With the Dremel 3000 drilled holes (plus Dremel Workstation 220) 1 mm, 1.5 mm, 3.2 mm (and then drilled holes on top of 3.2 screwdriver 4.5 mm, 4 mm was not enough due to inaccurate manual work) ;
9. Cut out with scissors, metal contour board (this is the most difficult thing was);
10. To tin with liquid tin (an aqueous solution of a tin salt).
11. inserted fee on the inserted into the body of a button, and all soldered.
12. After soldering rang multimeter all adjacent tracks, at one point had to remove the closure of tracks.

My man. Coming out with an Alps variant. Have you had a chance to try the Matias switches yet? I highly recommend them.

Alps White I got chance, try only Cherry MX. Thank you, in case I'll try.

The Matias switches are based on Alps switches (Grey Tactile and Dampened Cream Alps) which is why I suggested them. If you do end up trying them, please let us know what you think. I love your boards and I'd love to know your thoughts on the switches :D

Where to buy them?
-
When Matias has them in stock, you can buy them here (http://matias.ca/order/). It's $50 for 200 and then $10 shipping to the States. Not sure about shipping elsewhere.
And just recently, I found out that MechanicalKeyboards.com is selling them. The link for the Matias switches at MK.com is here (http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_list&c=52).

Thanks for the links. And where you can buy caps Alps?
-
Um...that's an issue I'm currently trying to figure out. Since I like the US ANSI layout, I have a couple Dell AT101W (http://i.imgur.com/cmOpGgD.jpg) keyboards that I'm using for different projects. I can get them for fairly cheap, around $30 or so. I'm not quite sure what layout you'd like to hunt down but you can try that or maybe Focus FK-2001's (http://i.imgur.com/eRCcIl2.jpg).
The Kingsaver, a Korean custom Alps board, uses stabilizers and caps from a Wang 724 Alps board. Pictures can be found here (http://www1.kbdmania.net/xe/best_article/6671991).

Check 7bit's GB at Deskthority.

Not crazy about this one, but that's me.
-
Where's the Enter key and how do you access it?
You can do instead of the right shift.
Enter - Fn+h
Backspace - Fn+n
Delete - Fn+m
Insert - Fn+,
Arrows - Fn+ijkl
Home - Fn+u
End - Fn+o
PgUp - Fn+p
PgDn - Fn+;

Welcome back ibnteo! Ohh, I like that track ball man!
Is LAT Latvian?
Latin, most likely. As opposed to Russian Cyrillic. :)
-
Ah ok, His old revision had Eng so I thought it was like Rus, Eng, Lat, etc. But that makes total sense ^__^.
-
Welcome back ibnteo! Ohh, I like that track ball man!
Is LAT Latvian?
A tribute to tradition, was the name of the switches on the old computer languages БК-0010 (BK-0010), РУС (RUS - Russian) and ЛАТ (LAT - Latin).
