Title: Hi Guise
Post by: sugosugita on Sat, 05 January 2013, 22:22:58
Hello,

Greetings! I'm a noobie in the land of keyboard connoisseurship, so far I've only got an Apple M0116. Hoping to delve further and learn more!

Welcome to Geekhack!

Are you using this on an Apple?  This has an ADB connector, right?  Are you using an adaptor?

Yes ADB up (L) and down (R) (for mouse). But no I don't have it connected at the moment. Just cleaned it last week and it's looking spiffy.

From what I've found the ADB connectors are pretty spendy?

I have only one old Apple keyboard with an ADB connector, and that keyboard does not feel very nice, so I don't use it.  It was paired with a PowerMac 8500/something AV running Mac OS Classic.

Last time I looked, yes, ADB adaptors were expensive.

Mine was manufactured in '88, uses ALPS switches. Possible not the same type you own? I bought it for $3, so if I don't end up typing on it could be some form of modern art perhaps :-)
