Title: Greetings from Hungary
Post by: Dreadwyrm on Sun, 13 January 2013, 10:12:31
Hey, geekhack!

I've been lurking around for a little while, and this looked like a cool place, so here I am.  :)

I've got a Das Keyboard Ultimate with blue switches as my main typing tool (the other one is my ThinkPad's keyboard), and I have achieved around 80 wpm in my native language (hungarian) and 70 wpm in english, mainly because of the immense time spent playing Typing of the Dead.  :D

Recently I've become fed up with the way my fingers jump around in QWERTZ, so after some research I plan to switch to Colemak. I've considered Dvorak as well, but the prior seems to have less problems. Am I choosing right?

I am also planning to invest in an ErgoDox, but I don't know whether I want to be in the group buy currently held at Massdrop. Some say that it is worth the wait for a better deal with more customizability. The other concern is my lack of ability to solder, but I hope I can get some experience on the rubber dome boards laying around the house.

I'm happy to be a part of this community, I'm glad that I found a place to go to with my typing addiction.  :D

Welcome to Geekhack!

Last time I pulled apart a rubber dome keyboard, there was very little solder on it.

Have a look around in the ergonomics section here, and perhaps this thread (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=34799.0) in particular.
