I am quitting this idea, no monies currently PLEASE POST IF YOU WANT TO TAKE IT OVER!

I can't post in many areas yet due to being a noob, but I have had sh*t all to do this Sunday (due to girlfriend being away with family) so I was looking through old threads when I saw TF2 key caps, as a group buy interest, it seemed to have been abandoned so I thought it was pretty cool idea. Anyhow if I am not allowed to do this or whatever please delete the thread, I am not starting a GB or anything Considering starting a GB or selling these myself :D but I dont mind helping if someone else does.

So anyway TF2 key-cap class idea, possibly Function Row? And swap the ESC with http://tiny.cc/md8uqw (Can I tiny.cc ? I just think the link was ugly :3)

Right I have been busy! I have contacted a manufacturer and they said they could do my designs but they would be more towards novelty and not designed for heavy use, so that means "WASD" keys are out (FOR NOW) But since the other keys were designed to be along the number keys 1-10 (well zero) then they should get some use but not tonnes of it.
Prices, I have been told they can make any of the designs, but unfortunately its MOQ of 50 at £2 each (exchange rate here http://www.xe.com/ ), I can afford to purchase 2 lots at the moment straight of the bat so unless you don't mind paying upfront or anything that's fine with me? If you want to purchase through eBay at a higher cost, that's also okay as well. So basically please pick your 2 favorite and we can work on getting those manufactured, when I can put more money in i will! So think of them as being limited edition :D
These keys will be PROTOTYPES the manufacture has a new machine in, this is why the keys are so cheap! I am letting you know this now!
If anyone can help me with postage costs to the USA (from the UK) please PM me as I am not aware of prices and I will need to include these, although Jiffy Bags are on order!
Anything else, please leave a reply or PM me if you want and ill get back to you!

Even if there's enough interest there's the issue of getting them done, from what I've read SP won't do stuff like this due to copyright issues.

I completly agree, these are epic (i think anyways) I shall look into getting them made myself, and I don't mind selling them dirt cheap to you guys!

Looks great, but the TF2 font is horrible, would probably want the other stuff though...

I like the TF2 font, adds to the feel of the gamer pack, but I would prefer the lettering in black, as well as the symbols in black (over brown).

Looking closer at the font on the WASD caps, I think I got it wrong. Like razorsharpgears says, I think Its the color of the font. In addition to that, it seems bolder than in-game and
needs to be antialiased. Could it possibly be in the same color scheme as the title page of the game?

I can get some mock ups made, but as I quote from the email I have received,
they are usable, we have tested for wear on a special machine, its just they start to wear a little quicker than say, dye sub. So really we haven't tested it in the real world yet- that would take time.
So if you guys are still interested they would be £8 for a set of WASD again MOQ of 50, tell me what you guys think!

I wouldn't get myself too hyped, doubt that anyone in the USA will take the risk to make copyright violating keycaps. China might be the only way, I don't know how much hassle that takes.

Yeah, I agree. This was just a rough draft to see how everything was going, matching it up, the only worry I have is what about the combat keys, unless you want to scrap them altogether. Your thoughts are very much appreciated!

The only real usage I see for the killicons is having a favorite loadout and having it as number 1, 2 and 3. For me, that would be the rocket launcher, the shotgun and the shovel (yepp, only nabz use the equalizer :cool:). In that case, one could have the classicons as numpad keys (I know not everyone has that, but leaving out the first 3 on the number row would look lame). It could be done with basically any set of weapons, i.e. 1 - degreaser; 2 - flare gun; 3 - axetinguisher. It would be a cool way to emphasize the loadout you play with the most, and you could change it if your playstyle changes.

That does sound pretty cool, but I don't know if making every weapon on a key would be possible, unless you fancied paying £2600 for. Set haha! What I want to do, is make something beautiful and affordable, in a way half of what CC's are (beautiful) and I fear going to the other side too. :3

I think that is a brilliant idea! Need to find someone who can do gfx though, but that can be sorted in the future! If anyone else likes this idea, please post so:) just you know "quote, I like this" etc. etc. cheers guys, you've all been great to me so far, making this easy
