I hear ya! I have a black one that I got the white keycaps for. It looks real nice, and I just needed to have lettering that shows. still need that hand to hold I guess.

What did you do with the other one? That is, do you now have another with a white case and black keycaps? If so, how do you like it?

I like the black case and white keycaps.

That's basically what I'd done, since I have both, I simply swapped out the key caps....

Since my white is used, and my Charcoal Grey is new, I'm using the Charcoal Grey base + white keycaps as my daily driver for my main rig.....together with a DK9008S MX Blue. The Type Heaven is for my 3rd rig...I'm using the white key caps as it's easier to see, I ain't too familiar with the layout yet....

I really prefer the white one myself because I've used Black keyboards for pretty much my entire life.
Razer Lycosa > Razer Blackwidow Elite > Razer Blackwidow Ultimate (Don't even know why I did this) > Noppoo Choc Mini > Keycool 84
I really like the look of the white HHKB and I think it looks incredibly professional and I'd love to buy one, but as for the black one? I just don't get that feel from it.

I got lucky because I found the black one with both black and white keycaps on eBay. I then sold my all white one.

I got lucky because I found the black one with both black and white keycaps on eBay. I then sold my all white one.
It's personal preference. If you are already used to the HHKB or don't tend to look at the keys much at all, and prefer all black, just get that.
I'm getting better and can certainly use the black one fine, but I just sorta like the look of my hybrid one:

I am not used to HHKB; this will be my first. I like the black because of the unclear type so I can practice typing blind to eventually lead me to a blank keys. But I just have too many black keyboards: Matias, Code, Poker. I am not sure I wanted another black. And black keys shine faster. The white though, is nice, but I am getting some vortex PBT white keycaps from feng for the Code/Poker - so maybe I should just settle with the black HHKB.

HHKB has PBT keycaps which should not shine.
Except the space bar, but you can put a strip of stick tape along that to keep it pristine.

I wouldn't even bother, just use it as normal.

I wonder if I'm the only one that thinks that white PBT keycaps look delicious. Like you're typing on individual cakes or something.

Thanks, rowdy. That makes it a no brainer to me because I don't have to worry on the shine on the Black HHKB. And I really like that the font is barely readable - so I can practice typing without looking and can get the blank caps later. I guess yet another black keyboard to my already all-black collection. From this video of OP, white/grey replacement keycaps on a black base made it looked really good. Looking forward to this!

Is there anywhere to order replacement keycaps individually? Or is the $78. set at Elite Keyboards the only option in the US?

EK is the only place I've seen with the ANSI sets, you can always try the classifieds
