Title: which mod style do you think looks better here?

the top I suppose is the RA2 style, while the bottom is the style used for CCnG,
which do you prefer?

or something entirely different?

I like the top one, I find the red up to the top row is more streamline. The matching \| cap and ~`

I like the top style better. I like how all the edges of the alphanumeric/modifier keys are the same color as opposed to the bottom picture.

Second one.  I tend to subscribe to the opinion that the `~ and \| keys produce visible characters on the screen and are not modifiers, so should not be coloured as modifiers.

I don't understand why on 2tone 2/3 the function keys are the wrong colorway, as they are NOT character keys. That is what I want to know. So really it dosen't matter if the ~ and \ are 'wrong' as the function keys are too. Inconsistent!
Make it however you like it.

I prefer the bottom from a printable characters all being the same color perspective.  Multiple colors on the function keys is kind of a necessary evil, IMO.
