Hi Long time lurker but first time posting :),
I have the Noppoo Chock Mini and when in Bios it does not recognize the Enter key. As I have a duel boot machine with Windows 7 and Windows 8 installed, I cannot select my o/s. Whilst I know that there are work arounds to set a timer to run Windows 8 as default after 5 seconds, it's kinda bugging me why the Enter key is not working.
All keys work fine when in Windows.
I have the Asus Sabertooth running the 1708 Bios.
I appreciate any advice you have to offer.
Thanks

I'm not sure what the problem is. I have some issues with my Noppoo Choc Mini as well. I'll be doing something and then not type for a while and go back to type and it won't work at all. The way that I fix it is for me to unplug it and replug it in. Sometimes it takes a few times for this to work. Another problem is sometimes almost all of the keys work except backspace and a few other keys do not work. I use the same solution to fix it. I was just about to make a thread about this as well, but I figure we can see if we can get some Noppoo Choc Mini help in one place. I have certainly read about similar issues with these keyboards. Any help or information would be amazing!

This occurs due to the USB hub hack that the Noppoo Choc Mini uses by default (no DIP switch to disable, unlike Ducky keyboards). As far as I've read there is no concrete workaround.

Is this an exclusive problem with the Noppoo keyboards or just all NKRO mechanical keyboard devices in general?
I don't understand what you mean by Ducky's having a DIP switch and what benefits that has.
Verbhal - No problem
Thanks

This is correct. And emphasizes why this style of controller design is beyond idiotic and why USB should die.
NTLDR will only recognize input from the first USB keyboard to answer the BIOS support inquiry. Wanna guess which 'keyboard' the Enter key is on?
Hacks like this are inexcusable stupidity from the designers. And not just the keyboard designers - no, they don't have much of an option because of the HID spec and USB's inherently braindead limitations.

It applies to all keyboards which claim NKRO over USB. They use a Windows-dependent hack which allows for NKRO instead of 6KRO (standard for dioded-USB keyboards). Ducky keyboards have a DIP switch which allows disabling of this hack so it doesn't interfere with BIOS or other operating systems.
NKRO over PS/2 doesn't require this hack (as PS/2 utilizes hardware interrupts) so it's only "NKRO over USB" that has this problem. NKRO over USB is possible without this hack if not running at low speed USB settings which almost every USB keyboard does.

use a different keyboard for BIOS... easy solution... forget the rest... not important.

Thanks. Think I'm going to sell it then, which is a perfect excuse as I preffered my Logitech G13 for gaming even though it isn't mechanical. What a shame it was a nice keyboard too.
Next time I'll look into 6KRO boards that don't have this issue.

Sorry it had to come to that. I do like the Choc Mini layout a lot, but without that DIP switch it's hard to use it everywhere. Good luck!

Then I hope your system has PS/2 because that's the only way to get it without subjecting yourself to incompetent design. Every single USB keyboard has to do it that way.
-
Wouldn't it be easier to just get a USB-to-PS/2 adapter?
-
Well I decided to keep hold of this keyboard, but now I have run into another problem. When the keyboard is plugged in (doesn't matter which USB port) on my Z&& Asus Sabertooth board Windows does not load from cold boot. Only when I unplug the device will Windows load.
I have full USB initialization enabled in BIOS and it still does not load. Is this a problem with the keyboard or can you suggest something for me to try? It never used to do this before and I'm thinking the keyboard ios faulty in which case I will ask the ebay seller for a refund.

Or maybe it emphasizes how NKRO is completely unnecessary. I can't imagine how anyone needs to have 6 keys press simultaneously.

GDI man, just use a different keyboard for bios... or a numpad w/enter key :p

NKRO can be done right, and there are situations when it's useful.

I always have two boards plugged into my PC, which is how I get around it. But I've read that a proper USB > PS2 adapter will work as well. Any confirmation on this?

I found the problem, posted it over at Logitech forums so hopefully I can get an answer. Also I RMA'd my G700 so don't have LGS installed so I can imagine that will causse some conflicts too. I wrote in in a rush and reading it back my grammar is terrible lol
Specs:Windows 8 64
G27 Drivers/LGS Software Version: 5.10.127
This driver casuses massive conflicts with games and causes the mouse to stop responding and my PC to not boot up when I have my mechanical keyboard (Noppoo Choc Mini attached via USB) attached.
I did a full re-install of Windows 8 today to try and identify the problem. The system was formatted before installation.
After installing the G27 software my mouse would stop responding in games even when the USB for the wheel was not attached or powered from the mains.
After restarting my system my PC wouldn't boot and would hang unless I plugged in a non-mecchanical Keyboard.
I then restarted my machine and uninstalled the Logitech software; Deleted Logitech entries from the registery. In addition to deleting any Logitech entries from C:\Users\(My Name)\AppData\Local and Roaming folders.
After restarting my PC with my mechanical keyboard connected the PC would once again boot correctly and my generic mouse would work in games.
I cannot use my G27 wheel because of the issues it causes. Will there be there be a driver update for this as it is causing conflicts at the software level.

I have this problem too!! IMO NRKO USB workarounds are stupid. Can't play Battlefield properly because of this thing. Otherwise, this is an excellent keyboard for typing.

Just closing this of as solved (hopefully) As I hate looking at topics where they are not updated with a solution.
Logitech told me to try the below which did not work:
Thank you for contacting Logitech's Customer Care.
I would like you to try the following:
1. Uninstall LGS and eventual software for the mechanical keyboard
2. Put Windows in cleanboot
1.Press the "Windows + R" key to open a Run box.
2.Type msconfig and click OK.
3.On the General tab, click Selective startup.
4.Clear the Load startup items check box.
5.Click the Services tab.
6.Select the Hide all Microsoft services check box (at the bottom).
7.Click Disable all.
8.Click the Startup tab.
9.Click Open Task Manager.
10.On the Startup tab, right-click each enabled startup item and select Disable.
11.Click OK.
12.Click Restart.
3. Install LGS and keyboard software
4. Boot Windows normal
1.Press the "Windows + R" key to open a Run box.
2.Type msconfig and click OK.
3.On the General tab, select Normal startup.
4.Click the Services tab.
5.Clear the Hide all Microsoft services check box.
6.Click Enable all.
7.Click the Startup tab.
8.Click Open Task Manager and enable all of your startup programs.
9.Click OK.
10.Click Restart.
5. Test to see if it's working
I then when to the Asus website and installed AI suite 2 - only installing ai charger, usb boost 3, usb charger +
After a couple of restarts I can now have LGS installed and have my mechanical keyboard connected and boot into Windows fine.
Whether a fairy fixed the problem or it was solved by installing AI Suite 2 is anyone'e guess, but I'm just happy it's working. It was a pain having to detach the USB connector to my mechanical keyboard everytime I started my PC.

Same problems as OP and few others here, but it developed over time which i don't get:
I usually leave my pc on 24/7 and restart once or twice a week. Lately restart has been a crapshoot as to whether windows will load. I get the Azrock splash screen but no windows 8...
I thought maybe it was new fan, it isn't... it's my Noppoo choc mini X_X
I rarely tinker in bios so i don't mind having to haul out my microsoft comfort curve from closet for that, just is a pain now because i have to unplug the noppoo for my pc to even boot! Also gotta remember to unplug when i go on trips so i can remote boot and access it Zzz
Would a PS/2 adapter solve this? I don't need to punch more than maybe 3 buttons at a time when I'm gaming. So, not to digress from OP but my issue isn't the bios, its that windows 8 won't load with my Noppoo anymore.
