Title: Cherry mx white (milk) with blue springs?
Post by: AKIMbO on Sat, 26 January 2013, 14:41:55
Has anyone done a spring swap on cherry mx white (milk)?  I'm curious what a cherry mx white would feel like with blue springs...or maybe some 62g or 65g springs.

I could quickly give it a quick try right now.

I'd love you forever if you did.

I did this mod to a full board. It's a subtle difference from blue, just have a softer click or more dampened feel.

Does it feel akin to ergo clears?  Or more akin to blues?

No, more like if blues and browns had a baby I guess.

Quick test. The soft click is the same. Weight feels about the same as a blue, but because of the softer click, it feels slightly easier to press down. I almost want to say it's like a slightly louder brown. Pushing slowly, it does feel easier to actuate than a normal blue.

I don't have a fullboard to swap around a full set, but I feel like it would be a perfect way to have softer blues.

Edit-Guess Lysol beat me, but his blue/brown baby analogy is spot on

Thanks guys.  I think I may try and do up my phantom with 65g mx whites if I can get a hold of some 65g springs.

Tried it on a single switch a few weeks back and loved it.. I'm hoping to get it done to a whole board at one point.
