Aww... Yea..... mmm..hm.... yea that's good... :D
Y is this so much more awesome??????
I think this settles another argument for me.. OEM profile spacebar > Cherry profile
Because the spacebar is taller, you can reach it more easily providing tighter control on typing rhythm :)

Try one of the ones from EK -- either frontwards or backwards. I think you will like it.

what's special about this spacebar?
I'll flip between the 2, It's a matter of where it is. When I don't have a proper Palmrest or a Table of which my keyboard is on, i'll flip the Spacebar around to provide easier typing. When I'm playing games, however, I'll use it normally. I first saw it on, I think, the Korean Keyboards thread, and I tried it. It's AMAZING for typing, but not so much for gaming...I don't know why, I'm just used to playing games with a normal spacebar.

Those who embrace change survive, those who fear it will slowly and painfully perish .....
I also think the dissonance between Gaming and Typing is that when you game, you're hitting the TOP of the space bar, which the normal orientation is just dandy..
However, when you type, the right hand is usually hitting the "Lower" lip of the space bar, and this is where superior contour of the "flipped-orientation" comes into play :D :D :D

fk it... $3.5... I can afford to splurge a little :D
Just flipped my SP spacebar around for some gaming....oh my, I think I like it better for typing as well. Although it does look outta place :DIt does, yes, but I think typing without a wristwrest with it flipped like that is a bit easier on the wrists, though it's probably better overall that you have a wristwrest whether it be one of Beast's nice wooden ones or just the curved side of your computer table (I, unfortunately, happen to be using the latter)...

You hit the nail on the head. I can type with the Spacebar normally, but It's the only way I can when gaming, whereas I can flip between the two when I'm typing. Although I'm not suggesting that we ALL flip to this (That would be more up TotalChaos' alley, though I don't know how ergonomic it would be, so he may strive to stop people from using it, since he appears to be all about the ergonomics), but I think a Spacebar that had an extended surface that was curved down would be cool.

This keyboard has the perfect space bar... Too bad the rest of it suxorz.
I'm not really feeling any "amazing" results, it's definitely interesting though. It's easier to type w/o a wristwrest.
I really liked the feel of the flipped spacebar on the FC660C and also when using an imsto thick pbt spacebar with dsa retro.

are you flipping the space on all your boards or only a select few utilizing certain profiles? i am backwards on everything now.
I used to care about flipping the space bar... Hence this thread...
BUT THEN, a star shower gleamed across the night sky.
A thunderous sound rumbled from my back yard.
I investigated, and recovered the asteroid.
It split open in two as soon as it cooled on my kitchen counter and inside was an Ergodox kit.
Heaven ordained.. Ergodox and Me.
You can too, head over to mass drop today.
dude you guys should try flipping all the keys!!!! it's what halverson and I do and it feels great. Why stop at only the space bar ?

how do you flip the space bar on a mass drop?
This thread. I absolutely have to try this once i get my keyboard in! This seems like something amazing, or as said before, an elaborate prank.
It does look totally weird, and my first instinct is still to say "you've put it on the wrong way around".
I am yet to gather enough courage to try this myself, but OTOH I do not have a problem with space bars in the conventional orientation.

I didn't really have a problem with the conventional orientation either, but I tried it out anyway out of curiosity a lil' over a year ago... my world was changed... Try it now... Just do it. It'll only take like 30 seconds to do it :P

Not while I am at work repairing a server, maybe when I get home (he said, knowing full well that he is currently using a Model M at home and those space bars cannot be flipped). OTOH I might switch back to my Ducky which I am kinda missing, and try there. Cherry stabs too, so no fiddling around with Costar inserts.
I might ask why you are up and posting at 2am! ;) :p

A messed up sleep schedule and flexible work hours :))
What I can ask YOU is, what are you doing browsing GH at work! ;) :P Teehee~

But... where to get adapters for angled switch mounting?
i was like - wtf is this crap, then i switched the stabilizer stems around and ..... WOW
I flipped the spacebar on the FC660C without really knowing this was a popular thing!(It just felt too sharp the way I was using it.) Super glad to see others on the same page with this! :thumb:
I hate to say it. But it really feels a lot better.
Looks really weird but feels sooo good

You get used to it. As I said in my previous thread which is now closed, "It just looks so wrong, but it just feels so right." :))

Ppl be like , WTF is wrong with your spacebar
I'm with TP on this one. ErgoDox space key suffers from none of these issues :) I'M JUST SAYING
My rational self is telling me that this feels so much better. But my OCD keeps reminding me that the space bar is upside down.
i'm offcially a flipped spacebar convert, just switched it on my second filco at home, it's freaking awesome :D
I should probably mention though, that the FC660C is the only keyboard where the spacebar actually felt sharp enough to be flipped. My other keyboards aren't like that at all for some reason.
flipped my WASD V1 yesterday, it will never be switched back, also when I finish my new QFR it will follow suit.
Am I the only one that doesn't like reversed spacebars? I tried it all day yesterday and didn't like it at all...

At first, I was like WTF work?! It's 2 AM, then I realized you were in my old hometown :)) Sounds like a plan. Let me know what you think! Give it a day, at least. If you say you don't like it after some good typing sessions for a day or two, I can't say otherwise :P
I would probably say that the difference is more negligible because they're OEM height. I think the effect is more pronounced on lower caps, with the SP spacebar being the most pronounced due to the angle of the bottom row.

I think this might be making a little bit more of a difference for people that are sitting their wrists on the desk while typing, since it causes your palms to be not parallel to the keyboard. The angle of flipped space bar is making you very happy. When key cap profiles were designed it was probably not expected that a lot of people would type that way. I type without resting my wrists and my thumb hits a stock fitted (thick pbt cherry) space bar completely flat.
For some reason it just feels so right

Okay, spacebar flipped. Lets see if it grows on me. :)

I love it on topre but not so much on mx.
sp spacebars benefit the most from flipping, because the angle is so sharp. others, not as much.
I'm also a fan of flipped space bar ;)
However, I prefer flipped space bar on my keyboards with Costa stabilizers onlyShow Image(http://i.imgur.com/kZ47mof.jpg)
I'm not sure if I like flipped space bar on my keyboards with Cherry stabilizers or not.
I've tried it, I stuck with a flipped space bar for a couple of months. It's a lot more comfortable for me to rest my thumb there, especially when playing League :thumb:
It really didn't make any difference to me. People say it feels amazingly better. I didn't get that.
Plus it grated on my aesthetics sensibilities ;)
Am I the only one who presses the spacebar with his right index finger?
