Title: QFR cap help
Post by: Preach on Thu, 31 January 2013, 02:24:55
I am looking into getting a set of caps for my QFR. The only issue is that I'm not sure what kind of caps can fit on it or
if there is a specific cap type.

I know the January pack fit on there but no idea what type of caps they are.

Any help with this will be greatly appretiated as I plan on getting a 37 set if not a full set.

Any Cherry MX key caps should fit. The profiles may be different but they should all fit.

Most standard MX keycap sets should fit the QFR - there are no surprises, standard spacebar, standard 1.25x modifiers etc.

The only two possible problems are the caps lock and scroll lock have LEDs under them, but you should still be able to see the lights with most keycaps.

The second is that the pins under the keycaps with stabilisers can be very difficult to get out (mine were, I nearly lost two fingernails in the process).

Just make sure they are MX caps, center stemmed capslock, 6.25x spacebar.

What kind of caps are you looking for specifically?

The second is that the pins under the keycaps with stabilisers can be very difficult to get out (mine were, I nearly lost two fingernails in the process).

For this reason I would recommend you get NEW white stabilizer inserts from WASDkeyboards. The qfr keys fit so tightly on them the tiny tabs that keep them in will be 'crushed', making them fall out of some keycaps without tape mod.
