Title: Where to buy low quantity of uncommon mx switches?
Post by: gnubag on Sun, 03 February 2013, 18:46:43
looking to buy clear, green, and white switches, about 4-8 of each for sample kits for my friends, but I cannot find them anywhere with reasonable price and shipping. ( i am a student :))
does anybody know where i can buy them (plate or pcb mound doesn't matter)? most of the shops (from the wiki) don't sell whites or greens and also charge like $10 for shipping which i s stupid for 4 clear switches -.-)

Ah.... not really worth it.... Just describe it to them..

Clear feels like Blue, minus the audible click, and is a bit heavier.

Green feels like Blue, but ALOT heavier...

White feels like Green,

That's it....

Red feels like Black, both feel bit grind-y feeling if you don't lube the insides..

Brown feels like RED with a grit of sand stuck in the slider...

Now, That's it.

;D

1 switch is around $1.50 (only white and clear)
and the shipping is also around $12. Compared to 7bit on DT this is double for the switches and triple for the shipping.
:|

anyway i got a PM so I got the switches, so this is just for future reference.

Not white, clear or green, but its good to know:
Best sample pack I found is from WASDKeyboards: http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/wasd-sampler-kit.html
$10.07 (with shipping) includes 4 different MX switches, 11 blank keycaps (different colors) and 15 O-rings (to try with your switches/keycaps).
I also bought the O-rings from them, but then found them cheaper in Amazon:
