Strange one, I currently have a friend who is in Japan for 3weeks with work.
Would he be able to get a HHKB for cheaper over there and bing it back for me? If it is a substantial amount cheaper I'll get one.
Does anyone know a Japanese site or shop or anything that he would be able to get it from?

I had someone pick me up at type-s and paid them £235 for it, so it is definitely cheaper. EK is roughly £280 and that is without postage + customs charges.
I couldn't tell you where he bought it from sorry, the receipt etc is all in Japanese :))
I'll try and ask him, but he was there on business and I think he got a Japanese colleague to sort it, i'll let you know if I find out!

Amazon.co.jp usually carries HHKB at the cheapest price like 17800yen. If your friend have postal address in Japan try amazon.
Type-S is available only from PFU direct or amazon at 29800yen. Same price, no discount. I think you can't find cheaper option for Type-S.

I picked up a HHKB for 24,900 Yen in early January @ Sofmap. Yodobashi has them for about 22,800 but were out of stock in both Osaka and Akihabara, Tokyo when I was there.

Thanks for all the help guys I have sent him an email with all the above details.
