Hopefully the demand for alps key caps will rise so we can get a group buy going for double shot or dye sub. So far every attempt has failed due to lack of demand.
I ordered mine too, hopefully I'll get it soon :DMine will be black (PC though I use Macs a lot). I'd prefer the silver case -- which gives off a great TRS-80 Model I vibe -- but the color is not worth the $40 extra bucks and loss of USB hub.
Oh and uh I actually just wish they'll even release a keycap set that you can buy. In my opinion the Quiet Pro will look better with white keycaps, so I wish I can just purchase a set and swap it over.
That's encouraging and it seems to be your favorite.
I ordered my mini MQP! Can't wait to tell you guys how I like it.
abs, this is normal yea?
I think that he means that certain keys are getting shinier faster than others, and not just out of more use. I have experienced it on my F and J key on my Das Keyboard. Really though, they also look darker over all. I'm guessing his keys are wearing similarly.
My Quiet Pro arrived but they ship me the Mac version instead of PC version. I've talked to them and they have no problem getting it exchanged :D
Though now I'm having second thought on Quiet Pro vs Tactile Pro.
Anyone else tried the Quiet Pro out there? It seems to me that everyone really enjoyed the experience. But to me the initial impression felt a bit like using o-rings. In a way it's kind of mushier and kills the mechanical feel.
However Tactile Pro feels very awesome and it's almost like a crunchier more tactile and louder cherry mx blue. But it only comes with Mac layout. So now I have 2 choices:
1. Exchange it for the PC Quiet Pro and hopefully the feeling will "grow on me"? I've only get to use it briefly that day anyone else know if it will "grow on me"?
2. Exchange it for the Tactile Pro since I liked the finish (white) and feel of the key switches. I'll probably just use AutoHotKey to reprogram it for windows or something.
What do you guys think?
EDIT: For those that are wondering. Clicky ALPS feel like between cherry mx blue and buckling spring.
You may just be missing the sound of the tactile. People really love the sound :p
The feeling will "grow" on you IMHO. The part that you're missing is mostly the sound. The feel is slightly dampened, but if you look at my review pictures... there is barely any dampening material. To compare it to an o-ring is excessive :p
The dampening material is shooooped to make it more apparent.Show Image(http://www.rwlabs.com/images/articles/Matias/QuietPro/18_thumb.jpg)

Agreed - the Feel of the QP grows on you with time.
I started with meh?
then I went hmmm
and since then it's muahahahaha!!!
Someone decide for me :P
Someone decide for me :P
Just based on what you are writing - go with the Tactile Pro. Once you have started getting annoyed by something (mushy feel in your case) it will keep bugging you more and more. You can always sell the Mac version for a small loss when the the PC version comes out.
Get both, exchange keycaps, profit!
