Hello, everyone. I am new to the forum and signed up because every time I did some basic research on my new addiction--mechanical keyboards--this website came up and had great information from knowledgeable people.
I am a business analyst and technical writer, so I spend many hours at the keyboard. My first mechanical was a Unicomp Spacesaver/Ultra-Classic and I just recently acquired a 1988 IBM Model M 1391401. I'm loving the IBM Model M and can definitely feel the difference, even though I still love the feel of my Unicomp too. I spent a few hours cleaning it up and soaking/scrubbing the key caps and it looks and works as if it were brand new.

Welcome to the forums! I'm sure you would get a lot more response to your question in the Keyboard subforum.
Lots of friendly people here willing to answer every question you may have, and quite a few Model M enthusiasts. There are quite a few people who prefer the BS technology over CherryMX or ALPs, or Topre.
WELCOME to WalletHack. Prepare to be assimilated. Resistance is futile.

That makes a lot of sense. :)

Oooo, you're from KY? You should come to this meetup (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=38767.0) if you want to experience Wallethack IRL ^_^
Welcome though :D

Welcome to Geekhack!
Interesting that you prefer the feel of the Model M to a Unicomp - IBM definitely knew how to make keyboards :)
