Appaarently this is an IBM m9 made by maxiswitch and I know nothing about M9s. My question is, is this a BS board like most of the M family? also that seems to be an sdl connector on it, Im assuming an SDL to PS/2 cable like the ones with the SSKs would work with it?

It looks to be a Rubberdome, and the date, for the most part, backs that up.
From what I understand, you should be wary of buying IBM boards made after May(?) 1994, for they MAY be Rubberdome.

I see, well that blows, I would have loved to have this thing if it were mechanical. Thanks for that info!

Yeah, the M9's an odd duck. But it's a PoS keyboard though, and they're all odd ducks. Unfortunately, without the cable, it's pretty useless. I don't know if it's a Y-cable doing 4-wire RS232 for the switch/barcode, RS232 with SDL, or something else entirely. Though TBH it'd be a nice piece to add to a display collection just for the relegendable keys and it'll probably clean up pretty nicely.
