Yep, just pmd him about it. Might be able to stop by microcenter on my way home from work tomorrow night.

I have an i5 750 OC'd to 3.8GHz from 2.66GHz sitting on an EVGA P55 right now. I know it's on the lower end of this gen's quad cores, but it's just not enough for what I do.
I primarily play video games, but with games like PlanetSide 2 where your GPU is a non-factor, I really need to just gear up a little more (especially with Dirty Bomb on the way). I also would like to start streaming.
So unless the i5 3570K can handle streaming better than the i5 750 by a longshot, I think i7 is the way to go. And sure, it will cost me around $350 (maybe a little more) to make this transition, but I plan on selling my CPU, Mobo, and CPU Cooler (unless the Zalman CNPS10X is compatible with and sufficient for the i7, which I doubt) to recover some of the cost.

you could invest in a capture card. (around $220)
which would result in almost no additional stress on the cpu while streaming, since it has an onboard chip for encoding.

For streaming look at the avermedia something something. Have it and love it although I dont know the exact name.

it's $20 off !!!!!! HORRAYYYY!

There is absolutely no reason to get a 3770K over a 3570K for your needs. I've even read that HT can cause stuttering in PlanetSide2, due to the game using two physical cores and two logical cores instead of four physical, so you might have to turn it off. You should obviously do what you want, but unless you're doing heavy transcoding, encoding, workstation kind of stuff, there is really no reason to get the 3770K over the 3570K. Also the 3570K is a huuuuuge jump from the more than three year old Lynnfield i5 750, and you're probably not going to notice a single difference between the 3570K and 3770K.

Hm alright. Guess I could grab a capture card at a later date. More concerned about performance right now. Do you think I should wait for more price drops or is MicroCenter pretty low already on the i5 3570K?
iArson, what's the latest I can get to you by?
50 dollar motherboard credit doesn't work with the i7, hence my original post :PI have an i5 750 OC'd to 3.8GHz from 2.66GHz sitting on an EVGA P55 right now. I know it's on the lower end of this gen's quad cores, but it's just not enough for what I do.

I knew the i7 was $230 at MC, but had no idea the i5 was still $190 ugh. I'd probably go with the i7 for a few reasons. First, it's only $40 more (More resale value, but I tend to part out/upgrade A LOT lol) and second you can get $50 off a CPU/Motherboard combo at Micro Center (Photo below).
Assuming you don't need the stock cooler, and I hope you don't haha, just have iArson ship the mobo and chip and it really shouldn't be that much.
Subtract $50 from motherboard prices in Red and add $189.99/$229.99 (Plus tax/shipping) for final price, assuming you're getting a combo :)
You could theoretically get a 3770K CPU/Mobo combo for $229.99 total (plus tax/shipping), but this would be with a mediocre board.
Edit: And don't forget about the boards on the left. Here's a direct link to the same page - http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/e055b2fc#/e055b2fc/33Show Image(http://imageshack.us/a/img13/1097/84291585.jpg)
Also, does anyone have any really good motherboard suggestions? I'm between at the ASRock Z77 Extreme4 and Extreme6. Need someone to sway me one way or another.
You don't need any rep to PM people who are selling things, though people on [H] may be a little wary if you're PMing them with zero posts lol.
TL;DR
OP says 3770k and title says 3570k
May want to fix that for whichever one you want for the lazy people like me who don't want to read the whole thing.

Thanks man! By the way, do you still have your white Filco with black caps? I remember you from about a year ago!
