Hi, I've been using a g500 for a few years now, and I kind of dislike the braided cable and apparently, there's a small positive acceleration on it. I've been thinking about getting the razer abyssus, but it only has three DPI settings: 450, 1800, 3500 dpi.
I'm currently playing on 1360x768-ish resolution, so 450 is way too low, and 1800 is way too high. I usually play at 900 DPI.
How can I make it so that I can get the feeling of 900 DPI without losing any precision? Will changing the sensitivity in the razer driver, not the windows settings, affect my precision?
tl;dr Will changing the sensitivity inside the razer driver, and not the windows sensitivity located in the control panel, affect my mouse precision in any way?

AFAIK changing sense in razer drivers won't mess with your precision, at least not more than the hw accel in the G500 sensor, so getting an Abyssus is a smart choice if you want precision.
I did some research on this a while back, the conclusion I came to was that it's best to just leave the driver sensitivity on default, but chancing it doesn't impact precision, it's just that in most cases it's better to adjust dpi and in-game sensitivity. Obviously that's not really an option with the Abyssus due to the large leaps in dpi.
So, at least from what I know, going 1800 and adjusting the drive sensitivity until you get the feel of 900 shouldn't have an impact on precision, although depending on game I'd say it's worth a shot to get used to 1800.

Thank you very much!!
I tried to use 1800 dpi on my g500, and it's wayyyy too fast for me, as I used to play a lot of FPS gaming 3 years ago before switching to Starcraft 2.
If anyone else has a different opinion of this matter, feel free to post. I'll probably pick up a razer abyssus soon then since I now know I'll be able to make the abyssus close to my previous settings.
Thanks again.
