Title: Noob question, about swtitches, stems, springs and housings.
Post by: Winther on Fri, 01 March 2013, 10:49:54
I really catn decide which ducky board to get.. Im considering a shine 2 with blues, a G2Pro with blues or a G2Pro with a mix of greens and blues. (with greens on letters and blues on modifiers)

Anyways, I know that some poeple make ergo clears and gheto greens and what have we, by mixing stems and springs around. But is the housing the same on all the MX switches?

so that I could take the spring and stem of a blue switch and put it in the housing of a green, black, red or so on, and then have perfectly normal mx blue switch?

Also, would I have to desolder the switches from a ducky shine 2/G2Pro to change out the internals.

Hope someone here can help. :)

All of the housings are the same.  The only difference is between PCB and plate mount.  The PCB mounts have two extra locating pins on the bottom, but the internals are identical.

As for the Ducky, you will not only have to desolder the switches, but also the LEDs.
